The red ship labeled “Soya” (宗谷), which was Japan’s first Antarctic observation ship.

Famous sled dogs used in Antarctic expeditions—these may be modeled after Taro and Jiro, the legendary Sakhalin huskies who survived harsh Antarctic conditions during the 1950s.

The inclusion of Soya ship and sled dogs reflects Japan’s historical Antarctic missions. Includes a full set of coins from 2007 (Heisei 19), sealed in mint packaging.

लाल रंग का जहाज़ “Soya” (宗谷) जापान का पहला अंटार्कटिक अन्वेषण (दक्षिणी ध्रुवीय अनुसंधान) पोत था।
